Washboardeezer
<< 2002-07-15 - 1:50 a.m. >>

So tonight was the concert! Yay! First I went to Mish's, left at around 4:30. I had some bus trouble, though. I accidently rang the bell too soon and then bus stops, right. No one gets off and I sit there giggling to myself. Then the drive didn't stop at my stop (which was the next one). I think he was getting revenge or something.

Anyways, Sophie and Nicole came to Mish's before we left. Sophie gave me my belated birthday present. $20 gift certificate for HMV. Now I can get another CD :)

At a little after 6 we left for Washboardeezer. For those of you who don't know, Washboardeezer is the Weezer concert with Dashboard Confessional opening.

Anyways, first we had to go to the bank so Mish could get my $15 she owed me from Queen. There was some weirdo taking out money there, too.

So then we get dropped off and make our way to the Molson Ampitheater with instuctions to meet back at Medival Times after the concert. Yay Mish's dad for driving us there and back!

We make our way through the lines. which weren't bad. There were Get Up Kids guys. We called them that because they were giving out GUK flyers. We saw them later.

Anyways, then we went to our seats, 201 VV6 & 5. I was in 5. I later wrote my name in White Out on the back of the seat. Fun fun. I was hoping to get a hot guy sitting next to me but nOoOo some girls sat down. I guess I lucked out at JEW. Hehe.

Anyways, then there was an opening opening band. That opened for Chris. And then Chris! Or Dashboard Confessional, rather. He did The Good Fight second! He was great. So little and adorable. He had on a yellow t-shirt. We (surprisingly) didn't cry during Screaming Infidelities. And I got to hear Hand Down properly. :) There were some girls dancing when that song came on. Funnyness.

Chris had cute knees. Yes, I sound insane, but he was like rockijng while playing his guitar and awww... Also in Saints and Sailers when he "argument" he pronounced it "arguMONT". That was interesting. And he was so nice, thanking us for coming out and stuff. I mean, very sincerely. And said we could stand if we want and had to sing because it was funner that way. And just like in the video for Screaming Infidelities he didn't sing making out. the crowd did.

Oh yeah, and there was this hot guy a few seats down from us. When he went bye he smiled. Hehe.

Then there was the break between dashboard and Weezer and I got a shirt. Yay! It's orange and gray and says Weezer Rocks on it. There were no dashboard shirts. :(

Anyways, then Weezer. There was a Rivers look alike sitting near us. We liked him. He was hot, in a nerdy way. Not that Rivers is hot, but this guy was. Sort of, anyways. And there was a drunk woman in front of us that danced. She was a bigger Weezer fan than us and about 3 times our age! Later she accused me of stealing her shirt, which disappeared and was the same as mine. But it hadn't been me, of course. Evil woman.

There were also a bunch of guys that were great. They sang. They danced. They amused us. And lent us a lighter.

Now for Weezer themselves. Rivers had on a suit! He must have been boiling. He had on a plaid tie, haha. It was nice. Anyways, there was a W in lights and flames and the drums were up high. Coolness.

Everyone was insane for Weezer. No one was standing for Chris and not singing along much either. But Weezer was like crazyness. They did Hash Pipe (as en encore), My Name Is Jonas (EEP) was the last song before the encore, they opened with Holiday, there was also El Scorcho, Only In Dreams, Undone (The Sweater Song), Island In The Sun, Dope Nose, Surfwax American... A lot off the blue album. It was great since I love that CD.

After it ended we got slightly lost. We left but then didn't know where Medival Times was. I basically knew which direction and with help from some people we found our way. Oh yeah, and I got a slushy and a keychain on the way home. Yay!

So that's it. That was the greatness Washboardeezer concert entry. Hope you liked it. Gotta go now. Bye.
