Fans of "Christian" music
<< 2003-01-31 - 6:34 p.m. >>

So I download a song by Further Seems Forever. They are an emo band from Florida, their old singer was Chris Carrabba from Dashboard Confessional. If you have Kazaa, you'll know about people putting funny descriptions for songs.

Well someone put a big giant religious lecture in it. That really pisses me off. If a band admits they are Christians what does that have to do with their music? But I guess people stick with their own kind, so if Further Seems Forever say they are Christians then all the Christians must listen to them, even if that is not at all what their music is about!

Here is the description someone added on Kazaa:

quote:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

God is reall! Christ died for you and he wants to save you now. you must ask God to forgive you for all the evil things you've done. if you want to give your life to Christ, and recieve eternal life just pray this, and beleive it in your heart.. Dear God, I am a sinner and need forgiveness. I beleive that Jesus Christ shed his precious blood and died for my sin. I am willing to turn form my sin. I now invite Christ to come into my heart and life as my personal savior. amen.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And here* is a quote taken from their website:

quote:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q. Is further seems forever a christian band?

A. Well everyone in FSF is a christian, but we don't call ourselves a christian band. We do this because we love it. It is not a ministry for us. Our faith is our relationship with GOD on an individual level, and if we feel led to share that we will.

This is also a career for us, and we don't feel comfortable taking money in the name of GOD. I am not saying it is wrong to do so for some more ministry oriented bands, but it is just not for us. We simply love to play music and love GOD.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is where I got that quote from.

I think that this whole religion thing is kind of like with Bush. All the crazy religious people flock to anyone who admits they are religious. But I guess at the same time there are enough religious people who hate Bush. Which is why I said the crazy religious people.

Um... This was a really random post that started out complaining about people with their mp3s then ended up mentioning politics. Either way, if you found my ranting interesting good for you.
