Finch concert First off, before I talk about the concert, I have to warn you people to not be stupid like me and get there super early. If you live in Canada, anyways. It was freezing standing in line, until the people in front of us bought a fire log and started a fire and security made them put out their fire and take down the wall they made out of planks. Anyways, we got to Kool Haus at 2 and met a girl band that was in line behind us, Walking Felony. I was dressed a little oddly, in plaid pajama bottoms with my wine pants over but rolled up to my knees, with my hat and lava lamp tshirt. We got inside late, at 7, and decided not to be up front, since that involves crowding and injury. Me and Shannon stayed off to the side but with a good view of the stage, and danced around. Also, before the show Gerard, Frank, and Toro of My Chemical Romance were nice enough to come out and sign autographs, so I got my bag signed, and later Toro and Frank signed my CD. Their set was pretty awesome and we didn't have long to wait either. When the Movielife came on I was pretty excited. Overall, they were great too. The singer was hilarious between songs (or I thought so, anyways). When they played Walking On Glass I really started dancing. I must admit though, they probably got the worst reaction from the crowd. Not that it was bad but everyone seemed much more excited and into the other bands. Still, I think they were better than the Used, who were the ones headlining! The merchandise was not enough, since they didn't have any Movielife CDs. I bought a blue Finch hoodie and their CD, plus My Chemical Romances' CD. I was pretty disappointed they didn't have any Movielife ones, but Frank of MCR convinced me to get their instead. Finch did an awesome job, the crowd really loved them. However, I was very tired at that point and yawned throughout the whole set. It's too bad they didn't play my favourite song of theirs, Letters to You, but they did play What It Is To Burn. I didn't think the Used were too good, but The Taste Of Ink was really good. They were basically okay. I heard the singer pukes on stage (luckily I didn't witness such an event). One thing I really remember about the Used was the singer yelled, "We don't support the war and we don't support George Bush!" Hopefully that wasn't just for attention. I met some interesting people. There was this girl in the bathroom that just babbled forever about nothing to us who was quite amusing. Then I saw a guy that works at the store near mine, which was a surprise, so we said hi. Also, we ran into P.A.B. so I talked to Andrew for a bit. After the show Niki disappeared off the face of Kool Haus (she turned out to be outside). Shannon was in line for coat check and I went over to the merch counter to bond with Frank and Toro of MCR. They were very nice. Frank seemed off in his own little world, the dude was wrapping a tshirt around his head like a turban. Now my ears are ringing. We were basically near the speakers the whole time and the bands were pretty loud. One thing they all had in common was they all screamed a lot. |
